(Reuters) - La película más reciente del cineasta mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu, "The Revenant", figuró el martes entre los nominados a los premios del Sindicato de Productores (PGA, por su sigla en inglés) de Hollywood.
La película sobre un aventurero abandonado en tierras inexploradas estadounidenses, también nominada para los Globos de Oro, competirá con otras nueve que podrían ser contendientes para el máximo galardón de la industria, los premios Oscar.
La obra más reciente de González Iñárritu, que en el 2015 se llevó el Oscar por "Birdman", fue nominada junto a "Straight Outta Compton", una película sobre un grupo de rap en Estados Unidos que se convirtió en el filme más taquillero dirigido por un cineasta afroamericano.
También aparecen "The Big Short", sobre la burbuja inmobiliaria que desencadenó una crisis financiera en Estados Unidos; "Sicario", sobre un grupo federal de élite que combate al narcotráfico y la película apocalítpica "Mad Max: Fury Road".
También fueron nominadas las películas de ciencia ficción "The Martian" y "Ex Machina", el filme "Spotlight" sobre una investigación de los abusos sexuales cometidos en la Iglesia Católica, el drama "Brooklyn" y la película de espías "Bridge of Spies".
El sindicato nominó para mejor película animada a "Anomalisa", "The Good Dinosaur", "Inside Out", "Minions" y "The Peanuts Movie".
Los premios del sindicato, con más de 7.000 miembros, se entregarán el 23 de enero en Los Ángeles. En los últimos ocho años, la organización eligió como mejor película al filme que posteriormente se llevó el Oscar.
